Tom has a clever mind. He tricks his aunt so easily because Aunt Polly thinks he is right. For example, in the first chapter tom tricks his Aunt saying there is something back of her. right when she looked back tom ran away so he won't get caught.

Tom is able to trick his aunt because he is clever, resourceful, and good at thinking on his feet. He knows how to manipulate situations to his advantage and is quick-witted in his deception. Additionally, his aunt may underestimate his abilities or trust him too easily, making it easier for him to deceive her.
