as a teenager i can tell you the number one cause of using is pure curiosity. achieving the high off marijuana, heroin, or even higher-level harmful drugs starts with curiosity. yes peer pressure is also a factor and if the drug has a high potential for abuse, like lets say heroin, then addiction. I know many teenagers who smoke pot because of problems at home, stress from school, to look cool, or even because they have nothing better to do and just want to get baked and play videogames all day. all in all curiosity from drugs and alcohol is the number one reason why modern teenagers take drugs.
