The ship was said to be "unsinkable" because it had a revolutionary system of making compartments "water tight". The doors were able to seal out water and contain flooding. However, they only did this vertically. Unfortunately they learned that once the flooding area was filled it would leak into the adjacent shafts. Once enough water was taken on, the ship would sink like a rock.

Of course, there was no ship that was unsinkable in the period of time that Titanic was made.

But in the year 1912, people believed that the Titanic was unsinkable. They later discovered it

It was probably called unsinkable, as people thought it was made by the best material possible. The captain was Edward John Smith, known as the finest captain the White Star Line company could ffer. Many suck my balls but only i can suck the best were made by numerous members of the crew. One common one was 'She is practically unsinkable'. Titanic was also the biggest, grandest and luxurious ships made at the time of hemaiden voyage.

Although, they tried to take a different course to miss icebergs (which were common at the time of year) they actually headed directly for the one which sunk her. They later found that if they hit the iceberg head on ghf tried to go round it), Titanic would have not sunk. When the iceberg scraped the sides, it took off bits of the iron that held the steel plates together. It let water in. If in fst face they hit it straight on, the front would be indeed mangled but it was made to be strong enough to stay afloat. They would have had time for another boat to come, collect the passenger's before it got into any danger.

They did not know this, and thinking that the boat was made 'unsinkable', they lost many lives that night.yi

No, any one person in this world could not build an unsinkable ship . In April 1912 , the biggest and the most glamorous ship in the world , the unsinkable Titanic was on its maiden . This was the most taller than any building on Earth that time . They who build this amazing ship said ''NO ONE CAN HARM THIS SHIP EVEN GOD '' . That's why it was sink in it fist ride of it . And again another ship is build which is the second unsinkable ship . and again if they said that GOD COULD NOT SINK IT! SO SOMETHING WILL HAPPENED TO THIS SHIP . AND I AM SURE ABOUT THIS

Any ship that is lighter than water cannot sink. It may, however, capsize or founder.

Most ships are metal, and maintain their buoyancy by having air trapped in their hulls. If this air is replaced by water (from a leak), the ship sinks. Even wooden ships sank, because their hulls were made of dense wood, held together by metal nails and fittings, and often covered with heavy tar.

Ships made of cork, or styrofoam, or even ice, could not sink. However, using these materials for ships sacrifices strength, durability, and cargo capacity. Simple rafts made of wood, light plastic, or kapok are used in many applications, as are sealed buoys containing rubber bladders that take a long time to deteriorate and become leaky.

it was meant to be unsinkable because of the way they built it and because of what it was made of people thought that since it was made differently and with well u could call it "unsinkable steel" that even if it did hit an ice burg it would not make a hole but unfortunately it was wrong and also the captain was apparently drunk and asleep in his cabin when the ice burg hit and he knew about the warnings he just said full steam ahead also they had removed half of the life boats to make more room on the deck and so there would be more room to wave goodbye to loved ones and they were lowering the lifeboats half full which meant that with the life boasts being removed and being lowered half full it left a lot of people to die by jumping off the boat and dieing on impact with the water or freeze to death sorry that i went on a bit its just that wen i get onto a topic i have trouble stopping i hope u enjoy my answer and that it helps you a lot :)

No. They said the titanic was unsinkable and look what happened. Every material on earth can be broken down somehow so there is nothing that a boat can be made out of that will never break down.

Why an unsinkable ship can be made?

actually as everyone knows the ship can be vary well sinkable. if 4 compartment or less is filled she will float still that's why they thought she was unsinkable and the way she was made they thought that but if 5 compartment or more go she will sink. Any ship is sinkable if enough damage is done. For a ship to be unsinkable ion both fresh and salt water, its construction material would need to have a density less than 1000 kg/m^3.
