You need symbols on PFDs and PIDs because an exact drawing is more complex than necessary on those documents. Too much space would be occupied by the detailed sketch of something as simple as a valve, when all that those two documents need to show is what kind of valve, how large it is, and where in the process it needs to go.
Commonly used P&ID symbols (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram symbols) for manual valves.
p&ids r docs used to desribe symbols, abbreivations prefixes and specialised equipments while pfds r sketches that use symbols to represent instruments/vessels used in process engrn and also shows the direction of flow.
Some process design documentations are: Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID's). The process design documents ensure that the design documents fit together.
What the difference between process piping and power piping?
Process piping contains the product or piping integral to the process of creating the product. Utility piping is supporting the process but is not integral to the process, typically fresh water, cooling water, steam, condensate

The impulse line is the piping or tubing used to connect the transmitter to the process. To ensure correct readings, it is essential that impulse lines be installed correctly for the type of fluid that you are measuring. Consult your transmitter installation manual.
This is the code for Process piping.
The process of copper re-piping is basically replacing all iron piping in a home with that of copper piping. Unless a homeowner knows how to do plumbing applications, a professional plumber should be hired.
