I take vitmain B conplex, and it makes my urine a BRIGHT yellow, almost neon, and no it's not just a couple hours after first taking them, it's the whole day, and as long as you take them. I only take the pill once a day, and it make all urinations the same color. I knew about the whole not enough water thing, but it's not a dark or deep yellow, it's BRIGHT and VIBRANT, and nothing to be alarmed about.

∙ 16y agoHello, I, too, am taking a multivitamin and have noticed that my urine is NOW a brighter shade of yellow than usual. In my layman's opinion, from what I've learned about medicine, it's just the extra vitamins that the body doesn't need being released in the urine stream. Normally, urine contains toxins that the body doesn't want. But I seem to recall learning somewhere that extra vitamins that the body doesn't need are also released in it.

∙ 15y agoVitamin B2, also known as riboflavin, is responsible for the bright yellow color of your urine. Many high-potency vitamin B formulas contain significantly more riboflavin (20-50 mg). At such levels the body gets rid of the excess in the urine. This is not dangerous.

∙ 14y agoAre you sure it is the vitamins that are causing this? The more yellow your urine, the less water you have been consuming. it could be because of dehydration or because of some of the nutrients that the vitamin contains. The human body excretes the nutrients it does not need, and it would be the kidney's job to do this. The chemichals in the vitamin could cause the color. Whatever the cause, it isn't cause for worry.

The B2 (riboflavin) is what makes pee yellow. Since B vitamins are not stored in the body (water soluble) any extra is lost in your urine. The bright yellow would happen to anybody taking the same vitamins.
