most modern lambda sensors have a heating element and relay which can drain the battery. To test, disconnect the sensor ,if found to be the cause buy new lambda sensor and check wiring.

Oxygen sensor
The oxygen sensor on a 1988 Astrovan is located in the exhaust system. There are two oxygen sensors, one on the driver's side and one on the passenger side of the exhaust.

They are screewed into the exhaust pipes--SYSTEM. I belive there is 3 of them in exhaust system. There is none after the muffler.
