It isn't advisable to drink alcohol for at least a week after getting any piercing because it thins the blood and can leave the open piercing susceptible to infections.
no
Get it pierced by a professional, and follow ALL instructions given to you by your piercer. This does not guarantee that it will not get infected, but is the only way to reduce the risk.
generally pregnancy does not interfere with piercings. if your pregnant and you have your belly button pierced, put a zip tie or long bar in it so the piercing will not tear. its likely that if your tongue is infected that it is not pregnancy related. try getting a long bar, and see if that helps.
for it to not get infected.
yes it can get infected if it gets infected really bad they might have to take a little part of your tongue off
Rinse with salt water and DILUTED mouth wash (non alcohol is best)
maybe maybe not never NEVER use listerine on an oral piercing. Only use an alcohol free mouthwash, like Tom's of Maine.
well you can swallow it. you can get infected if you eat something. your tongue can become swollen.
This is what will happen if you do not clean it
go see your doctor i could be infected and if you leave it too long you could have tongue problems :/
Clean with Betadine or mecuruchrome. Alcohol will delay healing. Rotate the posts or bars two or three times a day. Wash with soap and rinse well if you get anything in them. Your BEST oral hygiene and alcohol-free mouthwash for tongue, cheek or lip piercing. You never want these infected, They can get really nasty. If it does get infected, off to the Doc. You will need anti-biotics.
Well unless you did the piercing yourself, the chances your tongue is getting infected from it being done by a professional body piercer working in a licensed and inspected shop is slim to nil. The only way a professionally done piercing will get infected is through client abuse or neglect, failure to maintain correct aftercare and personal hygiene is the only means that will cause an infection. So if you ignore your piercing, fail to keep it clean and fail to follow your written aftercare instructions, yes you will wind up with and infection. But you will never wind up with an infection from a professionally performed body piercing.
