He's right. You should never give up your whole life to live somewhere for someone else. There are two issues at stake here: 1) It's not a choice you two are making together. If he loves you so much and you love him so much, there should be a desire, on both parts, to live close to each other. That, in and of itself, should spark the conversation, "How can we both make efforts to live close to each or with each other?" If both people aren't asking that, then it means one person wants it more than the other and that never works. Too much giving, not enough receiving. 2) Are you sure that he's as deeply committed to the relationship as you are. I've been in love and I'll tell you that a man in love with move heaven and earth to be with the woman he loves. Only problem comes when he moves heaven and earth and then figures out that he might not be that in love or he wants something different out of life than you want. The key here is to understand that when someone truly loves you, they will work with you to make things happen. You should never let anyone move across country or to another state for you if they don't like where they'll be leaving neither should you do that for them. You two have to build a life TOGETHER and although you might think now you could live any place, whereever you build a life with someone should be a place you both choose and you both want to live. Otherwise, there are bound to be problems later about the issue of geographic location. Really think about this one.
