Sixty by twenty-five whats? Feet, yards, meters? Need for what: cover the dirt, make a base for paving? How much slope is involved: gravel may not be a good choice. This question is not stated adequately for answering specifically. In general, gravel comes in many actual materials, including limestone or granite or other crushed quarry material which is therefore sharply angular; and river or riverine deposits or soft materials such as marble which are therefore rounded. Never use rounded material for any sort of surface that takes traffic, it will never stay still and will sink into the soil with traffic. For driveways, quarry stone should be sized to a maximum depending on the weight of expected traffic (larger for larger) but should not be washed unless it will be covered. To set as a semi-paving, it should be "crusher run" or ABC (aggregate base course) with all ranges from dust to the largest size, so that all gaps are filled and so as solid as unbonded material could be. Any runoff will erode any unbonded material depending on severity and slope of flow. Crown and ditches have their place and useful function, but the less the better in common cases. The minimum depth is dependent on the stone size, twice the maximum stone size being a guideline, with more for more traffic. For the very minimum, use washed 1-2" stone in one layer, roller compacted into a prepared soil surface, and get ready to control plant growth which can be grass for an absorbing alternative to paving with minimum erosion if maintained. Note: any plastic underlayment only increases erosion potential, no matter what the salesman says.
