Not too many reasons to meet up with an ex with the exception of mutual children. Some men in my experience feel more vibrant, or younger, or just more desired with the women they are comfortable with. These would be the typical kind that like to remember most of the good parts but not quite all the bad parts. Could be he was looking to boost his ego.
