Dierer ( spelt wrong sorry ) can be very serious in guinea pigs and can lead to other illneses. One of my guinea pigs died of an illness which it caught from dierer, though we did everything we could to save her. book an oppintment and talk to your vet hopefully he will be able to help you find the cause of the promblem and give you treatment. Don't worry though sometimes dierer can just be simply dierer and will clear up by its self. Not always though so please book an appointment with your vet asap.
good luck x x
Too many veggies or wet fruits/veggies can cause diarrhea. Instead of feeding your guinea pig food that has a lot of water in it like watermelon, feed lots of timothy hay to balance out your piggy's diet for a few days. If this doesn't work, I suggest taking your piggy immediately to the vet. Diarrhea can be a serious case. Some people may suggest you feed your piggy yogurt--DON'T FEED IT YOGURT! Many yogurts in stores contain other dietary negatives that WON'T be good for your piggy.
Well first you must know why the guinea pig has diarrhea. Is it food or possible sickness? First try cutting out veggies, and just feed hay and pellets, if that doesn't fix it, you need to rush to the vet. Guinea pigs are prey animals so they hide sickness.
Diarrhea means to much vitamin C. Just cut down on vitamin C but dont stop completely!! x

No no no no! If your guinea pig has diarrhea, see a vet IMMEDIATELY! Diarrhea is often a sign of fatal illnesses and must be treated promptly if you want to save your friend.
It is spelled "guinea pig". You got it right! :)
Whatever you do resist the temptation to feed it alot of lettuce or any other fruits and vegetables. It will get severe diarrhea which can be fatal. There is no reason a domestic guinea pig would get scurvy. Stick with feeding it pellet food and give it lettuce once a week.
So in some South American countries, guinea pigs are a delicacy. Of course if they are improperly prepared or stored improperly before you eat them bacteria may grow on them and you can get food poisoning that could cause diarrhea and vomiting and worse.
