Airports

Everyone who travels by air will need to go to at least two airports. The one they are departing from and the one they are landing in. Depending on the size and popularity of either destination, the airports could be as different from each other as night and day. Unless a traveller has been to a particular airport on a previous occasion, they never know what they will see when they depart the plane.

Though every airport is different, there are a few key features that are found in all of them. Obviously, there are the check in counters for the different airlines that fly into or out of that airport. Then there is Gates, Security and Baggage ClaimAll airports have security guidelines they must follow. These guidelines are established by the Transportation Security Administration.

A customer service feature that can be found in most airports is the help desk. For those who travelers who have become lost, who need to find information about the city they are visiting, or who have lost an item, the help desk will assist them as much as possible. Located near the help desk are the luggage cart rentals, and other helpful items one may need while in the airport.

For those who have a long layover or who forgot something from home, there are usually stores that sell things like magazines, toothpaste and other toiletry items, and snacks and beverages. Some will have gift shops with items specific to the city they are in, while others still will have coffee shops, bars, and restaurants.

The number one function of every airport is to get every air traveller to where they are going safely. Behind the Scenes, there are people working tirelessly to ensure that every customer stays safe and secure the entire time they spend at the airport, whether it is twenty minutes or twenty hours. So no matter how chaotic it may seem or how frustrated people may get, there is comfort in knowing that their safety is the number one priority.
