The Dell DJ MP3 player is a digital music player with 15 GB, 20GB and 30GB versions. The Dell DJ MP3 player is about the same size as an Apple iPod, but slightly heavier. This player uses Mp3 and WMA formats, but does not support iTunes format music. Several online reviewers have weighed in on this new Dell product and provided some analysis of this MP3 player.
The Dell DJ MP3 player holds a large amount of data. CNET's review of the product indicates that it is available in 15GB, 20GB and 30GB models, all of which can hold many hours of music. In addition, this MP3 player is slightly cheaper than 20GB and 30GB competitors and is easy-to-navigate, though it does not have the sleeker design and extras of both iPod and Creative Zen MP3 players. According to the Gadgeteer (www.the-gadgeteer.com) website, the Dell DJ MP3 player has almost twice as much battery power as the iPod.
While most reviewers though that the Dell DJ MP3 player was worth the money, there were several drawbacks. CNET says that the battery power is not as long-lasting as advertised, while the extra weight and clunky design of the device makes it less appealing to people used to Apple products. In addition, The Gadgeteer website claims that the Music Match software provided as the music organizing and identifying software with the player is difficult to organize effectively, and makes it difficult to create playlists.
Dell is a slightly more cost effective choice in MP3 players than more popular brands, such as the iPod or Creative Zen Touch, but it has a far less sleek design and is missing some of the more high-end features that these products can provide.
