Searching for the perfect vacation package is not a difficult task. Many resorts in the Punta Cana region of the Dominican Republic offer airfare, lodging, food, drink and entertainment sold at one convenient price and allow access to hotel amenities 24 hours a day.

Understanding all-inclusive vacations

All-inclusive vacations combine most, if not all, resort benefits into an individually-priced package at a low cost. All-inclusive vacations may vary from one resort to the next, and most offer a minimum of airfare, lodging, drinks and three meals a day. Resort restaurants are typically open 24 hours a day, allowing you to take advantage of these benefits whenever you feel the need.

Punta Cana local information

Punta Cana is a region of the Dominican Republic. The primary language of this area is Spanish, although many of the locals also speak English. This region is temperate and humid all year round and is not subject to substantial changes in temperature. Hotel prices in Punta Cana spike from December to April but drop over the summer months. This region is the safest tourist destination in the Caribbean.

Temperatures in Punta Cana vary little, and there is quite a bit of humidity in the air, so pack light and loose-fitting clothing for optimal comfort.

Activities

Resorts in the Punta Cana area offer a tremendous amount of activities and shopping opportunities for tourists. The activities and tourists destinations in the region are diverse and appeal to a broad range of travelers, from those who enjoy seeing sights to people who enjoy swimming and water sports.

Travel tips

Before traveling anywhere outside the United States, always read up on local customs laws for your destination. Some places have laws that prohibit bringing any type of animal carcass back to the United States, so refrain from purchasing hides or any other products made from animals. Also keep in mind that, although it is easy to exchange American dollars into Dominican pesos in this region, it is very difficult to change the pesos back into American currency. Due to this, all tourists should exchange only small amounts of currency at any one time.
