Toddler Birthday Party Ideas

Your toddler's birthday party is an important event, and there are many ways to make the party memorable and enjoyable for everyone.

Choosing the right food

Food is a very important element of your toddler's birthday party. When planning the menu, keep in mind that parents often attend as well, as their toddlers are too young to be left on their own. For that reason, make sure to choose a variety of foods suitable for both children and parents. Also, make sure to gather any guest allergy information before you plan the menu, in order to avoid any unfortunate mishaps, as food allergies are quite common nowadays. Some favorite foods at toddler birthday parties include: pizza, hamburgers, vegetables, fruit and small sandwiches. The birthday cake is obviously important; consider getting a cake that has multiple flavors, in order to cater to as many guests as possible.

Choosing the right activities

It is important to organize a variety of activities for toddlers to enjoy. Consider taking them to a local playground to run off some energy, or to your local petting zoo. There are many crafts that keep toddlers occupied and happy -- let them color in coloring books, or cut and paste with an adult helper. Depending on how long the party is, choose a movie or favorite television show for the children to watch. This allows them a chance to relax after running around. There are many movies and television shows geared towards toddlers, and they are available for rent at your closest video rental store, or even online.

Loot bags

Loot bags are always well received at parties. Make sure to choose items that are appropriate for toddlers, such as small toys, books and candy.

Keep in mind that toddlers have short attention spans, and less is often more when it comes to activities and games for toddlers.

Toddlers birthday parties take a lot of energy, but they are fun, memorable and definitely worth the effort.
