The idea of Maglev is used for large scale transportation of passengers via train. It currently holds the top speed record for railway transport, and they are unaffected by the weather.

It's entire infrastructure and design is so radical, it is unpractical to change over to it. Plus, the maglev is not that good for freight transport. It has never really been tested for freight.
