It is an illegal psychoactive drug. It is on the DEA's Schedule 1 list.

Pepspice its self isn't banned by the DEA (30 day ban to study the effects of the synthetic cannabinoids) they banned the popular chemicals that were in the spice products. But thanks to John Hoffman and other places such as Hebrew University and Pfizer ect. there are thousands of synthetic cannabinoids to go around! So in a nut shell even though the DEA banned those chemicals (on 12/24/10) there are thousands of more to take their place.
