4-H is an organization that teaches resposibility through its
programs. This is generaated even more through its clubs. A 4-H
club has meetings anywhere from once a week/every other week or
month to discuss new 4-H news, information, and resources. Meetings
start with pledges then usually lead into a short meeting which is
followed by either a guest speaker, working on a community project,
completion of 4-H projects, or just chatting in general. This is
also where you would receive your green record books/manuals and
project information.
If you don't have time to attend meetings you can sign up under
"independent study" (depending upon what state you're in). Indepent
Study makes you (the parent) the leader which means you would sign
all the records sheets as the "leader of your club"
Being in a 4-H Club is not required when joining 4-H. Or, if you
get tired of the club you are in, you can switch and join another
club.
