Construction
Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon builds a high dam that is roughly 25 km (16 mi) long, joining the Tigris to the Euphrates and creating a giant lake behind it. It is an earth-filled dam lined with fired brick using mastic (bitumen and sand) mortar. The primary purpose of the lake is to act as a giant moat on one side of Babylon for defensive purposes.
