Is there a Kalapuya work for "peace?" I am designing a peacepole and want to use the word "peace" is many languages. I love in Oregon in the Willamette Valley where the Kalapuyas lived. I want to pole to reflect the beauty of this region in the spirit of the first inhabitants.

There are many native Indian tribes in Oreogn. Chinook, Modoc, Klamath, Cayuse, Kalapuya, Nez Perce, Nahankhuotana, Chepenafa, Atfalati, Bannock, Wappato, Siletz, Northern Paiute, Shasta, Skilloot....and on and on.

From the Kalapuya word Wallamt, meaning Spillwater. In all likelihood, this was in reference to the Willamette Falls which the Willamette River spills over.
