It depends into what area the Local is being administered and also the volume being given. Usually a block will last longer than an infiltration. It also depends on the technique being used and finally the particular aramatic moity of the local. All things being equal a block on the mandible (lower) one cartridge 1.8 ml will last about 30 minutes in the bone (deep anesthesia) and about same time for soft tissue to return to sensitivity. The thiophene molecule (articaine hcl) is dose related. In other words, if you have achieved profound anesthesia (pulp test) with 0.9 ml, by increasing the volume to one full cartridge will extend the duration. The benzene molecule does not have these properties. Haynes Darlington M.Sc. PharmD

No, Adderall is not considered METHampehtamine.

Adderall is a combination of four amphetamine salts

1 racemic amphetamine aspartate monohydrate,

2 racemic amphetamine sulfate,

3 dextroamphetamine saccharide, and

4 dextroamphetamine sulfate

Adderall works as a reuptake inhibitor for dopamine and norepinephrine.

Amphetamine is the name for the chemical compound: methylated phenylethylamine. Methamphetamine is the same thing, but it is double methylated, instead of only methylated once.

Because of the double methylation, meth has a stronger, FASTER, effect on the body (not longer lasting). The strong/fast effect is what causes extreme chemical/physical dependence and addiction.

It is worth noting that methamphetamine breaks down into amphetamine when it is metabolized. This means that meth turns into amphetamine in the body, and is excreted as amphetamine.

Finally, amphetamines are very similar to nor/epinephrine, naturally made phenylethylamine substance from human adrenals. synthetic versions can/do severe damage to the sympathetic autonomic nerve system (e.g., cause of myocardial infarctions, rage/violence, etc.).

(note: "racemic" means mix of both levo and dextro enantomers of the chemical moity. "dextro" means right 'handed', levo means left 'handed'. Important since some drugs have only a certain shape (levo or dextro) that are effective, and some a mix of both is most effective).
