American foulbrood, amoeba, chalkbrood, European foul brood,
nosema, rickettsial, sacbrood, spiroplasma and stonebrood are
examples of diseases that honeybees can get. The causes can be
bacterial in the case of American foulbrood, fungal in the instance
of chalkbrood, and viral in terms of sacbrood. American foulbrood
decimates younger honeybees whereas nosema ends adult life cycles
and natural histories.
