(first position) plie , demi plie , hands demi to bras bas , grand plie . (second position ) repeat . (fifth position ) repeat . Bras bas.

une plie is a species of flatfish called 'plaice' in English. Grande means large in French.

the reason why plie's are valueable to modern dance is because when you do a plie it streches your muscles.
