First, both can make phone calls, and they are pocketable. Also,
they can text or save phone numbers. Both can handle recent call
list. And the biggest different is the pocket computer is a
computer with an OS and the mobile is a mobile without an OS.

They are not even close to being the same category. They are two
different products that will have customers purchasing both
items.
The PS Vita is all about games. It has analog and touch
controllers. The iPad is a larger, non-pocketable computing device
that does do games very well, but mostly relies on its touch screen
for input. It also does the internet and basic personal
computer-type applications very well.
