If you want to know what gear a priest is target them with your mouse, hit the enter key and type /inspect . As long as they stand there you can view what they are wearing/using.

The best thing about being a priest is you get invited to lots of instances. The worst thing about being a priest is that you can get bombarded with requests to join them in an instance. Another problem point is that everyone in a party expects you to heal them and not the logical player to focus on, the tank.

Being a priest can be hard as not everyone is as forgiving of mistakes as they are to DPS players and they themselves don't know how to heal and control aggro (so the mob hits on you instead of the tank ARGGHHH!) Not everyone is cut out to be a priest, especially the leeroy jenkins types: those who have to aggro everything in sight - these are more suited to being Hunters.
