Joseph Smith didn't "find" any religious movement. He, in a way,
founded one, the "Mormonism" branch of the Restorationist Christian
movement. However, most Christian scholars would agree that he was
simply one of the many who brought the Restorationist Movement into
light during the Second Great Awakening. Other Christian
denomininations, including the Christadelphians, Adventists,
Charismatics, and Disciples of Christ, are usually considered
Restorationist Christianity as well. Occasionally earlier groups
are also referred to as Restorationists, including the Anabaptists
and Puritains.
