In the original sense of an elevated, High road, the Great Wall
Of China , though not entirely intact or contiguous is the longest
elevated highway in the world, my history teacher used to point
this out, many kids would opt for the New Jersey Turnpike, but the
Turnpike is not entirely elevated- though good sections of it are.
The China Wall is also the longest fortified- again in the past
tense structure of its type.
