According to Jewish tradition, the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) was
written by Divinely-informed prophets, not scribes. The scribes
merely produced additional, identical copies of the works which the
prophets wrote at God's dictation.

Scribes used a reed pen to draw pictures on clay tablets. The pointed end of the reed pen would create wedge-shaped marks, known as cuneiform, on the clay surface.
