Three major people die in the War of the Ember ( Two bad guys and one good guy) Soren kills Nyra by launching an ice splinter straight at her heart. After Soren kills Nyra, Coryn goes after the Striga, and Soren tells him to stop, but Coryn keeps going, and so the Striga slices one of Coryn's wings off, and Coryn later dies of blood loss. After the Striga cuts off Coryn's wing, Soren slices the Striga's head off with Ezylryb's battle claws. Since Coryn is dead, Soren becomes the king of Ga'Hoole.
