By a long shot, Tbilisi is the largest city in all of Georgia.
In fact, it is almost ten times larger than any other Georgian
city. So, it comes as no surprise that this city is the place where
all the action takes place. It is the hub of everything in Georgia:
politics, economy, and even the city’s social scene. Tbilisi has
been the capital of Georgia since the 5th century. You might guess
that it is also a city that is brimming with history.
In addition to the historic landmarks, Tbilisi is also a city
that has a modern appeal. There are fabulous restaurants, a busy
social scene, and a thriving nightlife. New building projects are
popping up each day, from 5-star hotels to elaborate shopping
malls.
Tbilisi is truly the heart of Georgia and should be a stop on
anyone’s visit to the country. If you miss Tbilisi, you miss out on
the pulse of the Georgian people.
