Nicotine is one of those funny substances that our bodies crave
once they've just a single taste of it. We are actually born with
nicotinic receptors all over our body. Funny, but our body is
extremely sensitive to nicotine because of all these receptors
packed densely throughout our bodies, places like our nerves, or
our muscles. SO, with the teeniest amount that we let in via
nicotine gum, cigarettes, cigars, nicotine patches, our little
receptors are having a little holiday with our cells, just going
crazy off of the nicotine. Since the teeniest amount can have such
widespread effects then just a few milligrams too much and you can
go into toxic shock.
