Photographer Aaron Siskind was a pioneer of the social power of photography. Beginning in the 1930s, Siskind began to take his camera out to the streets and document the city around him. Siskind was also deeply interested in two-dimensional surfaces and eventually turned to more abstract forms. In this film, the imaginative photography of found objects is presented along with a survey of his social documentary photographs. Aaron Siskind was partially shot on location with the photographer on Martha's Vineyard and in Peru. ~ Cara Saposnik, Rovi
