Advanced Intelligent Personal Technologies (AIPTEK) is a firm that produces digital equipment. The company was founded in 1997 when it began producing a line of graphical tablets, which are used to transfer drawings to a computer. AIPTEK is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was listed on January 14, 2003 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol 6225.

Today, AIPTEK produces many lines of digital cameras, digital video cameras and several other digital products that can perform multiple tasks.

Its largest line of products are its Pocket video cameras for which it was an early adopter. Peter Chen, founder of the company, claimed in 2007 presentation to the Pacific Basin Finance, Economics, Accounting, and Management PBFEAM conference that the company was the world's "#1 Pocket DV Brand" saying that it had achieved its success through its disruptive marketing plus a focus on BRIC and ASEAN markets.[1]

AIPTEK claims to have been granted more than 100 international patents[2] and has expressed intentions to become a corporate leader in communications.[2]

Cameras

AIPTEK is known for producing various cameras that can perform several functions. They are often labeled "5-in-one" or "6-in-one" or "hybrid" cameras with features including (but not limited to): still photography, video recording, mp3 playback, voice annotation, memory card reader / portable storage, web camming and digital video recording (with audio/video in support) and video playback.

AIPTEK also produces and/or sells digital cameras of a more professional grade, including waterproof cameras.

Other products

AIPTEK also offers budget night vision devices, and a range of graphics tablets.


Graphics Tablet

Media Tablet Ultimate - a recently released (2010/11) graphics tablet from AIPTEK looks nearly identical to the WACOM Intuos 4 range, specifications are close to that of the Intuos4 tablets making them a possible alternative at a more affordable price compared to the Intuos 4 range. The Media Tablet Ultimate is a re-brand of a product from Waltop Corp, other companies such as TRUST and GENIUS also take Waltop products and re-brand them for their respective market areas.
