Genghis Khan had the largest empire in the world to control. Its
vastness covered vast amounts of territory and contained peoples of
many tribes and religions. Khan molded and controlled his empire
through his so-called Great Yasa. This was a code of law that
governed proper behavior, instilled respect for education, and
promoted religious tolerance.
