Highway 53 is an east-west highway of about 223 km in central Alberta, Canada.
It runs west-east between Highway 22 and the Veterans Memorial Highway, passing through the communities of Rimbey, Ponoka, Bashaw, Donalda and Forestburg. West of Rimbey it crosses the Medicine River and Blindman River, and in Ponoka it crosses the Battle River. It provides access to the Big Knife Provincial Park between Donalda and Forestburg.
From west to east, it intersects the following highways: 22, 761, 766, 20, 771, 792, 795, 2, 2A, 815, 821, 822, 21, 605, 56, 854, 855, 856, 861 and 36. Eastwards it is continued by secondary highway 608.
