Biography

Darien, Connecticut native Alexandra Breckenridge (also frequently billed as Alex Breckenridge) took an interest in the stage as a youngster and moved to Southern California to pursue acting during early adolescence. Breckenridge's initial assignments consisted largely of guest roles on programs including Freaks and Geeks and Dawson's Creek, though she branched out into feature work in 1999 (at the age of 17) with a turn in the independently-produced comedy Locust Valley, and thereafter alternated between additional acting work in Hollywood features and contributions to high-profile network series. Feature projects included the family-friendly showbiz comedy Big Fat Liar (2002) and the gender-bending Amanda Bynes farce She's The Man (2006), while additional television contributions included guest spots on The Family Guy and Charmed and an ongoing role as celebrity tabloid journalist Willa McPherson on the Courteney Cox-headlined satirical drama Dirt (2007). ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Alexandra Hetherington "Alex" Breckenridge (born May 15, 1982) is an American film and television actress.

Breckenridge was born in Darien, Fairfield County, Connecticut, the maternal niece of actor Michael Weatherly, and moved to California when she was 11. She started performing in local theatre productions during her early teen years, and appeared on several television series, including Dawson's Creek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared and Charmed.

She also had the lead role in the unsuccessful UPN pilot Mystery Girl. Breckenridge has appeared in numerous films, including an uncredited role in the film Orange County and a minor appearance as Frankie Muniz's older sister at the beginning of Big Fat Liar, both of which were released in 2002.

She had a major role playing Amy in the original short film D.E.B.S., and played Michele in the made-for-television prequel, Romy and Michele: In the Beginning (2005). Her biggest film role to date is in the comedy She's the Man, starring Amanda Bynes and released in March 2006, and she continues to voice characters on Family Guy. Up until the show's cancellation in June 2008, Breckenridge was a series regular in the cable TV series Dirt playing the ambitious, but naive, tabloid magazine intern Willa McPherson.

Her boyfriend, artist Bryten Goss, died in October 2006.
