Alexey Kozlovsky

(b Kiev, 15 Oct 1905; d Tashkent, 9 Jan 1977). Ukranian composer. He studied at the Kiev and Moscow conservatories, and in 1936 moved to Tashkent; there he taught at the conservatory, collected Uzbek folksongs, conducted the Uzbek Philharmonic SO and composed in most genres, bringing Uzbek elements into a colourful, Romantic style.
