All Nippon Airways (ANA) is one of Japan's leading carriers, along with Japan Airlines. With a fleet of more than 210 aircraft, ANA flies to some 130 domestic destinations and 40 international ones. It extends its network through code-sharing with members of the Star Alliance, an airline marketing partnership that includes such carriers as United Continental's United Airlines and Continental, and Lufthansa. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus serve more destinations.) Besides passenger service, ANA's air transportation operations include cargo and mail hauling and aircraft maintenance and ground support. The company also sells travel packages and operates hotels.
