Allan Heinberg (b. June 29, 1967) is an American film screenwriter, who wrote Young Avengers for Marvel Comics, and has been a writer and producer on The Naked Truth, Party of Five, Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., and currently Grey's Anatomy.

Heinberg's Young Avengers was a sales success for Marvel, though faced criticism early on due to complaints that the book was an attempt to manufacture their own version of DC Comic's successful teen series Teen Titans. The series also gained favorable press for its inclusions of two gay characters, Wiccan and the alien Hulkling. Heinberg himself is openly gay.[1]

After co-writing a 5-issue arc of DC Comics's JLA (JLA 115-119) with Geoff Johns, Heinberg and artist Terry Dodson relaunched Wonder Woman following the "Infinite Crisis" mini-series. The Heinberg/Dodson arc "Who Is Wonder Woman?" originally was for three issues, but was extended to five, though delays pushed back the final part which it eventually released in Wonder Woman Annual #1 (November 2007).

Heinberg currently shares a writing studio, the Empath Magic Tree House, with fellow TV and comics scribes Jeph Loeb and Geoff Johns.[2]

Heinberg is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Yale University class of 1989. He was in Morse College.
