Amanda Roocroft
(b Coppull, 1966). Eng. soprano. Sang Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) and Handel's Alcina whilst student at RNCM. Won Decca Kathleen Ferrier Prize 1988. Prof. début Cardiff (WNO) 1990 (Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier). Débuts: GTO 1990; CG 1991; Glyndebourne 1991 (all as Pamina in Zauberflöte); Munich 1993 (Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte). NY Met 1997 (Elvira in Don Giovanni).
