The Chichbu Night Festival is held every year on the 2nd and 3rd
of December. During that time, large floats decorated with
lanterns, tapestries, gilded wood carvings and drum and flute music
parade down streets. In the streets there are many food stalls.
People sell festival foods and amazake (sweet rice wine). Every 2
and half hours, a fireworks show takes place. All of the best
events happen on the 3rd. On this occasion, 6 floats are displayed
in their respectful districts at the Chichibu Shrine before they
are pulled through the streets of Chichibu at around 7:00pm.
