Amity University is a non profit private University in India, recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC)[1]

Amity University is recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC).)[2] and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest 'A' Grade. [3]


The University has accreditation for its Engineering Degrees by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK [4]


The MBA and BBA Degrees are Accredited by the American Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA. [5]


Amity University is also accredited by Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC), a UK Border Agency authorized accreditation body based in the United Kingdom.[6]


Amity University is a Member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), [7] a Member of the International Association of Universities (IAU)[8], and a Member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.[9]


The Bar Council of India (BCI),[10] Council of Architecture[11] and National Council of Teachers Education (Educational Programs)[12] have recognized certain function-specific courses.

Awards

Amity University has received the Indian Education Award 2012 (The National Education Award) for being the best non-profit private University in India.[13]

Research

A 2009 UGC inspection report mentioned that the Noida campus had a "good focus on research... has a number of well equipped modern laboratories and is recognized by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO)." The report recorded that the University has some "well qualified/experienced scientists as faculty members, who have already filed a number of patents based on their R&D work at the University.[22] As per the Controller General of Patents and Trademarks of India'a Annual Report 2009 - 2010 Amity University has filed 81 Patents which makes it the second highest in India only after Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) .[23]

Campuses

Amity University campuses are in Noida(New Delhi ncr), Lucknow, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Gwalior.[24]

Amity also has Business Schools across India under the name of "Amity Global Business Schools". As per Amity, these are based in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Patna, Indore, Kochi, Kolkatta and Pune.

Amity also has campuses in London [25], Singapore [26],Dubai [27] and Mauritius [28]

Programs offered

According to the university, there are various courses offered, ranging from anthropology to telecoms.[29] Biotechnology and bioinformatics are offered by the Amity Institute of Biotechnology on the NOIDA campus.
