Biography

Versatile cinematographer Andrzej Bartkowiak has filmed a number of big-budget Hollywood films. Early in his career, during the early '80s, Bartkowiak worked with Sidney Lumet. As the decade progressed he became increasingly in demand and has filmed everything from melodramas (Terms of Endearment [1983]) to comedies (Twins [1989]) to high-energy actioners (Speed [1994]) to special-effects extravaganzas, like Dante's Peak (1997). ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
