A server that functions as a relay between the user and a destination Web site. It hides the IP address of the user's machine from the Web site and may provide encryption on the user side. Many organizations create their own anonymous proxy servers, and there are public access anonymous proxy servers on the Internet that can be used by anyone. An anonymous web proxy (CGI proxy, HTTP proxy) is designed to bypass proxy restrictions through a web interface. Web proxies hide users identity from the sites they visit, keep cookies at their site, and delete them after each session and selectively remove JavaScript, Java, etc. The server then communicates with the webpage, then communicates with visitor browser.
