Antonio Bibalo
(b Trieste, 1922). It. composer who settled in Norway. Concentrated principally on opera. Comps. in this genre incl. The Smile at the foot of the ladder (based on story by Henry Miller, comp. 1958–62), Miss Julie (based on Strindberg's play, comp. 1973), Ghosts (based on Ibsen's play, comp. 1981), Macbeth (1989), and The Glass Menagerie (1996).
