Frankfurt am Main, Germany is the most international city in
Germany. Divided into North and South sections by the Main River,
this city has 1200 years filled with rich history. During World War
II, Frankfurt was destroyed as was Nuremberg. While Nuremberg
reconstructed the city to reflect its old world feel, Frankfurt
rebuilt with modern structures. Frankfurt became the largest
financial hub on the continent, a well-rounded city, and dynamic
cultural center. It provides an excellent city to establish your
business. There are art galleries (St%C3%A4delsches Kunstinstitut),
fine theatres, museums, and cathedrals (Gothic St.
Bartholom%C3%A4us Cathedral.) Frankfurt still celebrates two annual
firs that date back to the 13th century. These are internationally
famous, taking place in the spring and autumn. The open and
hospitable people in Frankfurt speak almost any language a visitor
needs. The city has preserved a portion of its ancient heritage in
the old quarter: Sachsenhausen.
Historic buildings and interesting sightseeing opportunities
make a stroll through Frankfurt to see its sights on your own. A
more organized sightseeing experience may be had by checking on
local tours. There are plenty of activities to fill your days in
and around the city. Tours are provided to take you shopping at the
wide variety of boutiques found in the city. A family-friendly
afternoon retreat in the park with a picnic, a challenging hike on
local trails, golf, boating, or other sports will keep you busy
throughout your stay. For centuries, Messe Frankfurt had been the
site of festivals and trading fairs. Although it was 95% destroyed
due to the two world ward, by 1948 Frankfurt had reopened the area
which would become the spot for an annual autumn fair. Encompassing
475,00 square meters of open space and exhibition halls, today’s
complex includes the Festhalle. Many trade fairs take place
throughout the year. The International Book Fair takes place in
October each year. More than 250,000 visitors from all over Europe
take part in this five day event.
Creative chefs and independent restaurants dot the city’s
landscape. Familiar American fare may be found at N.Y.C. Frankfurt.
Terrific German cuisine is available at Apfelwein Wagner for the
more adventurous. Within the city are areas where restaurants
cluster, allowing you to stroll along until you see, or smell a
fantastic dining opportunity. The Stattcafé supplies casual,
affordable dining, or Erno’s Bistro provides a perfect setting for
a special occasion. The Main Tower Restaurant perches on the 53rd
floor of one of Frankfurt’s tallest buildings. Its romantic,
luxurious setting provides a truly impressive panoramic view. The
menu provides an international variety, relying heavily on Italian
ingredients. After your leisurely meal enjoy live music from local
talent at the King Kamehameha Club. High energy dancing to the
rhythms at “U60311” will encourage a good night’s sleep. Club
Voltaire provides a haven for musicians, poets, activists, and
liberal thinkers. It offers daily readings with hearty traditional
food, good beer and apple wine. Their reasonable prices and
open-minded atmosphere invite you into the loyal local
customers.
