The #2 airline in Korea, behind Korean Air Lines, Asiana Airlines transports passengers and cargo to about a dozen destinations in its home country and more than 60 markets around the world. It operates a fleet of about 65 jets. Asiana Airlines extends its network as a member of the Star Alliance, a global marketing and code-sharing group that includes carriers such as All Nippon Airways (ANA), Lufthansa, and United. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus offer potential passenger service to more places.) The company is part of the Kumho Asiana Group, which also includes businesses engaged in tire and chemical manufacturing, construction, and insurance.
