Asmodeus is the demon of wrath. The name is taken from the Zoroastrian faith, where Asmodeus was the king of demons.

The correct spelling is Asmodeus and comes from the non-canonical book of the Christian Bible, Tobit. Asmodeus is also referred to in the Talmud, as Ashmedai.

As the leader of the ninth level of Hell (and ultimate ruler of all levels of Hell by superiority), Asmodeus would be considered more evil. Asmodeus is less "openly evil" than most evil deities, though, so you may have to read up more about him to truly understand how he works.
