Augustinus Franz Kropfreiter

(b Hargelsberg, 9 Sept 1936). Austrian composer and organist. He was a choirman at St Florian, then studied in Linz (1954-5) and Vienna (1956-60) before returning as organist of St Florian; he has travelled throughout Europe as an organist. His works, sacred and secular, are in a traditional style drawing on Hindemithian counterpoint and sequences of triadic chords.
