Baby book (or progress book), bound record of a child's development combining photographs with written entries on height, weight, teething, illnesses, and other life events. It was either a dedicated album of the kind still available today or a book laid out in journal form, often including specimen height/weight charts and other information. The latter were commonly produced, with suitable advertisements, by baby-food and photographic companies and were popular from before the First World War until at least the 1950s.
